Dedham dinner debacle - woman arrested
9:09am Sunday 3rd March 2013 in News By Wendy Brading
A woman has been arrested after diners failed to pay for a meal at an upmarket restaurant.
Four people, three men and a woman, dined at Milsoms in Stratford Road, Dedham, on the evening of February 16.
They ran up a bill of £520 including quaffing two bottles of Don Perignon champagne, three bottles of wine and ten courses between them.
However, they then forgot their manners and left without paying the bill.
Now a 46-year-old woman from Colchester has been arrested on suspicion of making off without payment. She was bailed until April pending further inquiries.

Serves them right, hope they are made to pay the bill, named and shamed and all of them prosecuted.

Mr-La-De-Da-Gunner-GSurely it is irrelevant how many millions the owner has!

No, really.
Eating a meal and then deliberately leaving without paying the bill is plain wrong whether it be Harrods or McDonalds,
Thank god this woman has been caught, if she wont name the others involved then she should have to pay the whole bill herself, it might make her think twice about it in the future.

Mr-La-De-Da-Gunner-GSo on that basis all theft from Sainsburys ,Tescos, any other major High Street retailer we shouldn't prosecute because they're rich. ????

4 dined....4 should share the blame.

raham.
I just hope he/she never has anything stolen. It doesn't make any difference if the person is rich or poor, its still against the law to steal something that is not yours, and that is what these four so called people did.

Mr-La-De-Da-Gunner-GBy the standards of many people in this country, let alone around the world, you would be considered rich. You have a computer or I-phone, you have the means to access the web. You may not consider yourself rich (I don´t know you, maybe you are).

No, really.
By your implication, it would therefore be OK if a homeless person, or somebody who cannot afford such things, were to steal your stuff.
Theft is theft, no matter who it is from.

Mr-La-De-Da-Gunner-GAnd your chosen path of rebellion is the comments section of the local rag? Very radical.

There are criminals everywhere, and we just have to hope that they will pick on someone else rather than us, but it will happen to most of us one day, if it hasn't already.
And I don't know what Mr Gunner Graham's political leanings are, he seems a bit of a loose cannon to me.
