Head-on road crash in Wivenhoe
EMERGENCY services are working to free someone trapped after a head-on collision.
Two cars crashed on Brightlingsea Road, Wivenhoe, close to the Broad Lane sports ground and the junction with Elmstead Road, shortly after 3pm.
Firefighters from Wivenhoe and Colchester released a man trapped with possible serious injuries.
The East of England Ambulance Service took the man and a woman to Colchester General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The man was joined in the ambulance with the Essex Air Ambulance's critical care team.
Motorists were advised to use alternative routes.
