In today's Gazette: A ticket for Colchester's park and ride could cost as much as £3 per person, it has been revealed.
Council officers say the pricing strategy is aimed at encouraging single passenger commuters to get off the roads.
* Peter Ballisat had to give up his dream of joining the Army - because at 6 ft 8 ins he is too tall to fit inside a tank.
Peter, of Halstead, achieved top grades in his application process but is now forging a career in the fire service after his lofty ambitions were thwarted.
* Serious failings in care contributed to a patient's death after a routine operation, a coroner has ruled.
David Pattrick, 69, of Goldman's Lane, Marks Tey, died after undergoing a gall bladder operation. Essex coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said there had been serious failings in his care.
* Tory MP Bernard Jenkin has written a stinging letter of objection against the Horkesley Park development on the eve of the landmark decision.

Colchester Borough Council are becoming a laughing matter! What is stopping people parking along Layer Road and walking? I walk from St. Michaels and its free!

So, is MP Mr jenkins for or against Bathside Bay, if it ever gets built, as a previously published story on bathside bay may be "compromised"if Horkesley Park goes ahead?

2: £3 really is not that much.
3: yes, some car parks in town are £3.50 all day, but they have limited availability and are not so conviently located for our of town folks.
4: if the gazette had not worded things so negatively, no one would think this is bad.
