Railway adopters needed
11:00am Thursday 28th February 2013 in News
ADOPTERS are wanted to take care of railway stations.
The Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership is looking for people to look after their local station along the Sunshine Coast line, which runs from Colchester to Clacton and Walton.
Adopters are wanted for stations at Hythe, Great Bentley, Weeley, Thorpe and Walton.
Stations which are adopted can play host to a range of events and activities, such as level crossing safety campaigns run at Alresford and art and literary displays at Wivenhoe.
- For more information or to volunteer contact Jayne Sumner, rail manager for passenger transport at Essex County Council on 01245 435772 or email jsumner@essex.gov.uk.

Surely by paying someone this would eventually increase fares even more?
Overall I think it is a nice idea. Some stations can look quite dull

Nowhere does it mention any pay, and they are asking for "volunteers".
If 'something2say' can read any more than what is shown above perhaps he would be kind enough to explain it to both Jess and myself.
