FOUR students have reached the regional final of a share trading competition.
The Illegal Animal Experiments team from the Colne Community School, Brightlingsea, made £20,000 in virtual shares in just three months.
Competing against 40,000 students in the IFS Student Investor Challenge, the team also outperformed the FTSE 100 share index in the process.
They will now represent their school at the South East regional final, held in London on March 13 and if successful will make the national final in April where an all-expenses paid educational trip to New York and £2,000 for their school is up for grabs.
- Sixth form students from the school also learnt about careers in insurance during a risk management event. Year 12 and 13 pupils tackled scenarios including a pop singer losing her voice on tour during a Discover Risk course run by the Chartered Insurance Institute.
