Colchester Comedy festival unveiled Colchester Comedy festival unveiled

ESSEX’S first comedy festival has been unveiled with a high kick.

Big names including Jimmy Carr and Richard Herring will join laughter workshops and screenings of classic films at the inaugural Colchester Comedy Festival.

Crowds gathered at the launch yesterday where Anthony Roberts, one of the organisers, abseiled down Colchester Town Hall wearing a man-sized banana outfit.

He was followed by the aptly named Miss High Leg Kick, who then cut the ribbon with her trademark movement.

See Tuesday's Gazette for the full story.
