Hospital's success prompts cash windfall

A HOSPITAL trust has been rewarded for its work - to the tune of nearly half a million pounds.


Last year, there was an 84 per cent reduction in the number of the most serious pressure ulcers acquired at Colchester General aand Essex County hospitals.


Now it has received a bonus of £400,000 from NHS North East Essex to spend on patient services.


The money will be spent on a stock of 210 new specialist mattresses to use in the fight against pressure ulcers.
