Love at FIRST sight? Passengers encouraged to meet on journey

ALL aboard the love bus!

Passengers are being encouraged to strike up new relationships with fellow bus users this Valentines Day.

From Sunday, February 10, First Essex bus passengers will be handed a Love at First Sight card when boarding.

They can fill out their details and hand it to a stranger.

Something dreamed up by Nigel in Marketing as a real feel-good idea. No doubt they envisage bubbly young professionals catching eyes across the bus, while the sun streams in through clean windows.

More likely it will end up with some poor girl having to fend off drunken blokes trying to make a move on her - and they´ll think it´s OK because the company handed out these cards!

If strangers chat on a bus, that is fine, but this could be a stalker´s dream. Badly thought out, not a good idea!

Difficult choice now, avoid First buses and take one of the terribly driven Cedric's buses or put up with this stupid idea. I'm guessing this was dreamed up by a man in marketing with no idea how the majority of people will take being given one of these cards by someone they no doubt have to share a bus with on a daily basis. It's creepy, potentially dangerous, and the chances anything good will come of it are so slim compared that the fact someone approved this terrible idea is mindboggling.

Word of advice to single ladies

"AVOID THIS BUS LIKE THE PLAQUE"
absolutely bloody ridiculous idea. has anybody that organised this thought about the safety issues. Typical bus company putting money before anything else

This story was published in the Gazette last week, so why have they published it again, do they support this nonsence. Spend money on improving your bus service First and not on stupid if not dangerous ideas. Are First Bus encouraging more perverts to use public transport it would seem so.

What LastBus should be doing is providing a decent service to the Colchester public.

The number 63 is a total joke with the early morning service either missing entirely or very late. Same often goes for the after 5pm service.

The excuse lately is that they've lent some of their vehicles out to London to cover shortfalls there.

What about our shortfalls Lastbus?

Get your act together and people might start using your buses more often.

Utter rubbish, their buses were got rid of by London first to Norwich then on to Colchester as they failed to meet emission regulations.

Oh god, I get enough weirdos approach me on the bus, very flattering of course, nothing makes a girl feel more desribale than some moron with a can of beer spitting his undying word of **** all over her :-) I would actually feel incredibly awkward if some random gave me their details, plus don't think my fella would be too chuffed. Aw well who knows their could be a weddimg from it, they coyld get married on the bus...if it turns up of course :-) as for me, well, I need to tone up for summer, think I shall walk everywhere for a bit.
