Major supplier of supplement linked to marathon death in Colchester

First published in News

The family of a London Marathon runner who died during the race has called for tighter regulation of health supplements.

Claire Squires, 30, a keen runner, collapsed a mile from the finish line on April 22 last year.

She had taken a supplement containing the, now banned, stimulant 1,3-dimethylamine (DMAA).

Sports Supplement Ltd, in Axial Way, Colchester - one of the UKs leading suppliers of the supplement - said it could not confirm it had been purchased through its website.

Full interview with Sports Supplement Ltd bosses in Friday's Gazette.
