A COMMUNITY hall roof is set for a £36,000 upgrade.
The Acorn Hall, part of the Oak Tree Centre in Harwich Road, Colchester, has won three cash grants to make improvements.
As well as £14,000 from the SITA Trust to renew the roof and install insulation, it has also been given cash to install solar panels.
Essex County Council’s Big Society Fund gave £15,000 towards the project, topped up by £7,000 from the Cory Environmental Trust.
