Colchester bank to close

A COLCHESTER bank is set to disappear from the High Street.

The Co-operative Bank has announced plans to close Brittania banks, which it merged with in 2009.

The deal will affect those banks currently operating near to a Co-op bank.

Colchester's Brittania, on High Street, is only a few doors away from the Co-op bank.

It will close by the end of the year.

See Monday's Gazette for the full story.

Someone will be on here soon blaming it on the bus station, High Street works etc etc and the council in general.

"plans to close Brittania banks"

Oh dear, "Britannia" has one "t" and two "n's".

Almost as bad as yesterday's "Northern Island" instead of "Northern Ireland"

Of course it could be the gridlock around North Station, the delays building the NAR3 or just the lack of a Park and Ride facility in Colchester that is to blame.
