A FAMILY have paid tribute to their loved one who died following a crash on the A12.

Steve Bint, 59, from Colchester, was driving along the A12 on Sunday, at about 7pm, when his Ford Mondeo left the road and crashed into a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, following the crash on the northbound carriageway between Kelvedon and Marks Tey.

A 57-year-old woman was trapped and seriously injured.

She was cut free and rushed to Colchester General Hospital.

His wife Sue, on behalf of the family, said: "Steve was an amazing person and a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him."

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 101 or e-mail collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk

See the full tribute in Friday's Gazette.
