A WILD bird was rescued after getting tangled in fishing line.
Firefighters and RSPCA officers combined to save the moorhen from a fishing lake in Greenstead.
Fishermen raised the alarm after spotting the distressed bird to free itself from fishing line on an island in the middle of the lake.
The fire brigade sent their technical rescue squad based in Lexden and armed with a boat they quickly managed to free the bird.
It was checked up at a wildlife centre and was found to be unhurt.
