CHARITIES and organisations are being invited to apply for a slice of the money raised at the Colchester Fire Swim.
Last October’s 14 hour Swimathon, which saw teams do sponsored lengths of the pool at Colchester Leisure World, raised thousands of pounds for local causes.
The final sums have not yet been totted up, and those taking part have been asked to pay any outstanding cash raised using the paying in slip supplied at the event.
Kev Jenner, one of the organisers, thanked everyone who took part and sponsors Travis Perkins.
Any local charity or organisation wishing to apply for a grant should write to Colchester Fire Swim, Colchester Fire Station, Cowdray Avenue, Colchester, CO1 1XT.
Funds cannot be given for maintenance and renovation costs.
