  • "Hmm, I rang Anglia Water about this at 6.30 this morning when I was on my way to Hythe Station.
Based on the amount of water flowing down Avon Way onto Greenstead Roundabout, the current weather conditions & the way that traffic has a tendency to drive on that surface I am expecting there to be a report of a serious accident in that area tonight."

Greenstead residents left without water for six hours after water main bursts

MORE than 100 residents were left without water today when a water pipe burst in Greenstead.

A four inch hole in the water main was spotted between 7am and 7.30am when residents in Alefounder Close, reported water running through the streets.

Anglian Water sent workers to the scene to fix the hole but had to cut the water supply to 120 properties to do so.

A spokesman for Anglian Water said: “Our engineers were called and were able to isolate the problem, with water restored to properties by 1.20pm.”
