Teenager almost died following High Street assault

Gazette: Teenager almost died following High Street assault Teenager almost died following High Street assault

POLICE are searching for a gang of thugs who almost killed a teenager on Colchester’s High Street.

An 18-year-old was left with brain damage after going to help a friend who was being attacked by a gang out for trouble.

Det Con Harris has already appealed for information following the assault at 3.30am on Sunday, November 25, but has been left disappointed with the response as he tries to get justice for the family.

The victim hit his head after being punched to the ground and was knocked unconscious before spending days in hospital with severe head injuries.

A CCTV image has been released and, although it does not show all three clearly, officers hope it will help jog someone’s memory.

One of the suspects was dressed in light-brown clothing and is captured walking by Wimpy.

Another had hair dyed blue at the time.

Anyone with information in connection with this assault is urged to contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
