A WAX seal dating back 550 years has been discovered in an archive.
Experts working at the Essex Record Office found the intricate seal attached to deeds from 1462.
The deed was given on April 5 to William Gerard, chaplain of the Joseph Elianore’s chantry in the church of St Mary-at-the-Walls the site now occupied by the Colchester Arts Centre.
