AN INNOCENT bystander was stabbed in the face after a brawl broke out at a petrol station.
 

Police are appealing for information following the attack at the Texaco garage on Mersea Road, Colchester.
 

It is thought during the fight a weapon may have been pulled out and stabbed in the face of a 31-year-old man from Tiptree.

Insp Jim White, town centre inspector for Colchester, said: “There was an incident involving two groups of people in the early hours of December 29 at the Texaco Service Station.


“There was an altercation between several people and a 31-year-old man from Tiptree was assaulted, causing injuries to his face.


“The assault appears to be motiveless and police are appealing for any information in relation to this incident.”
