A CANNABIS factory has been discovered in Stratford St Mary.

Police were called to School Lane after a member of the public went to a vacant property in School Lane and spotted a number of dead plants.

Officers arrived and found 40 abandoned cannabis plants.

The property had been converted with specialist hydroponic growing equipment suggesting it has been in use for some time.

Officers cordoned off the home last week and all the plants have since been removed.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: “We were called after someone found the plants and the converted property.

“The house was made safe and inquiries are ongoing.”

Officers are searching for the drug dealer who has fled the area.

Anyone with information call Suffolk Police on 101.
