Firefighters tackle flat blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in a flat in Colchester.
Three crews - two from Colchester and one from Tiptree - were called to tackle the fire at the flat in Longstraw Close at 3.18pm and there initial fears someone was inside.
However, station officer Dave Barritt, the incident commander, reported everyone had been accounted for.
Firefighters using breathing apparatus had the fire out within 15 minutes and ventilated the premises.
