RESIDENTS in a block of flats claim their rubbish has not been collected for nearly four weeks.
About 20 people live in Benedict House, in Circular Road South, Colchester, but residents claim the bin storage area has not be cleared since December 13.
One mum who lives in the block, who did not want to be named, said: “It is disgusting but it’s unfortunate that we have come to expect it from the council now.
“I have seen the bin lorries go past to the town houses beside us but they need a different vehicle to get to ours.
“It seems all the houses are getting down but they are forgetting about the flats.”
A Colchester Council spokesman said: “Before Monday, we have had no previous reports of a missed collection at this location.
“After a report was received on Monday morning, a crew was dispatched and the waste has all now been collected.”
