A MAN arrested and bailed on suspicion of rape since July has been released without charge.
Police were called to Colchester town centre during the early hours of July 29 following reports a woman in her twenties had been raped.
A 46-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested soon after but was today released without charge.
A sopkesman for Essex Police said there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
