Police cells full after New Year's revelry
2:00pm Tuesday 1st January 2013 in News By James Cox
THOUSANDS of revellers took to pubs and parties to welcome in 2013.
While most enjoyed a trouble-free evening some spent their first morning of the New Year in a police cell.
Colchester’s duty sergeant, Les Durling, said a host of minor incidents meant a busy night for his team of officers.
He confirmed that the station's custody suites were full on New Years day.
Sgt Durling, in charge for his first New Year in Colchester, said there had been no major incidents and could not confirm the number of arrests.
