LIFESAVERS rushed out to search the coastline after hearing a group of people had been cut off by the tide.
Walton coastguard and RNLI were told the group could have been stranded at the base of the Naze cliffs, just after 12.20pm on Monday, December 31.
The teams searched the area but found nothing untoward. A group was spotted on top of the cliffs which had previously been walking along the cliff base.
