Residents at Ashcroft Care Home in Halstead Road, Eight Ash Green, were moved out after the watchdog raised concerns about a number of areas including respect, nutrition and record keeping.
* Pop stars have backed a new music website developed by a former Colchester Sixth Form College student.
The BITEtv website, created by Laurence White, has the official endorsement of celebrities including X Factor stars Olly Murs and James Arthur.
* Former Colchester mayor Terry Sutton is fighting back to fitness after suffering a heart attack.
Mr Sutton, who is also president of the Royal British Legion and chairman of the Harwich and North Essex and Colchester Conservative associations, is now on a new fitness regime to lose weight and get healthy.
* Campaigners have launched a stinging attack on Colchester Council's planning department after officers recommended the Stour Valley Heritage Centre be approved.
The Stour Valley Action Group said it was appalled by the recommendation. Colchester councillors will vote on the plans next month.
