MOTORCYCLE-MAD David Petts is gearing up for an 8,000-mile ride from London to Shanghai.

David, 22, and pal Jonathan Ferguson will get off the boat at the Hook of Holland before biking 300 miles a day through Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan and China, reaching their final destination five weeks later.

Along the way the best friends hope to raise hundreds of pounds for volunteering charity Global Vision International, as well as spending some time helping out at one of its projects in China.

Good luck gents . Having watched Mr McGregor and Mr Boorman, knowing they had an immense support team and unlimited funds i wish you well. By no means an easy feat.
