BROWNIES came to the rescue when the air ambulance crew needed help getting to a patient.
Members of the 7th Colchester Brownie pack were delighted when the Essex Air Ambulance landed behind their Wimpole Road hall during their Christmas party, thinking the leaders had arranged it especially.
But when the pilot ran over and asked if someone could drive the crew from the Old Heath Recreation Ground to an incident in nearby Morant Road the leaders were more than happy to help, with Cuckoo David Scales emptying the boot of his car and driving the team and their kit.
Sadly the crew was unable to save the patient last Saturday (December 15), but the Essex Air Ambulance publicly thanked the Brownies on its Facebook page.
