A WOMAN has escaped a jail sentence for a death crash that killed her passenger.
Rebecca Price, of Wilson Marriage Road, Colchester, was driving too fast when she lost control on a bend and collided with an oncoming car in December last year.
Charles Punter, of Vicarage Court, Colchester, was in the passenger seat of her Ford Ka and he died at the scene on Kelvedon Road, Tiptree.
Price, 29, admitted causing the death of 25-year-old Mr Punter when she appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court.
She was jailed for six months suspended for 18 months and given a 300 hour unpaid work order.
She was also banned from driving for two and a half years and told to take an extended driving test.
