OLYMPIC fever has caused a year-long waiting list of 1,024 people at a gymnastics centre.

Colchester Gymnastics Club, in Brinkley Grove Road, is hoping to win funding for an extension to help meet the increase in demand.

It has credited the London 2012 Games for peaking people’s interest in the sport.

What happened to those children's gymnastics classes at Leisure World which had a waiting list of about 800, but the council closed them down during the Olympics alleging "lack of demand"?
Could this have fuelled the demand at Brinkley Grove Road?
