DETECTIVES have renewed their appeal following the murder of a teenager outside a house party.

Jay Whiston, 17, from Aster Close, Clacton, was stabbed outside a house in Marlowe Way shortly after 10pm on September 8.

Police renewed their appeal after extending the bail of nine people arrested in connection with the incident.

Five people from Colchester were arrested on suspicion of murder during the hours and days following the stabbing.

The two 19-year-old men, one 18-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of murder and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

In November, four people were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Like the five original arrested people, they have now all had their bail extended until Friday, March 22, 2013 pending further enquiries.
