IN today's Gazette: An 88-year-old man has been targeted by burglars four times this year.
In the latest incident, Dennis King disturbed burglars who smashed a window while trying to enter his property. He has now called for better policing in Tiptree.
* A seafront cafe suffered flooding after being battered by some of the heaviest seas in the past 20 years.
Lesley Youngs, who opens Flags Cafe at Holland-on-Sea a year ago, is having to pick up the pieces after the business was lashed by storms.
* Two men have been jailed for a total of 27 years for planning an attack which left their victim fighting for his life.
Jamie Usedone was left for dead outside yhis home in Clacton after being stabbed.
* Tributes have been paid to a grandmother whose body was found in Colchester.
Trudy Game, 40, died under a bridge by the River Colne in East Street.
