Man arrested on suspicion of arson after town centre flat fire

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a flat fire near Colchester town centre.
Firefighters were forced to break down the door at a flat in St Peter’s Street at 2.20pm yesterday.
They found a man who was distressed, locked in and suffering from smoke inhalation.
He was taken to Colchester General Hospital.
A man, aged in his 30s, was later arrested and bailed while detectives investigate the cause of the fire.
