  • "Hope they include the Horsley Cross developement and the "masterplan" does not happen. Build houses where there are no jobs, no additional schools, poor road access to the area, no police and a few getting rich while the rest of us have had to suffer the eyesores they have made to date. Take the industry to where it has a chance of thriving."

Horsley Cross could jeopardise Local Plan

FEARS have been raised that Tendring’s Local Plan could be thrown out if controversial employment land is included.

Land at Horsley Cross was a last minute addition to the plan which is currently out to consultation with the public until January 7.

Owners have drawn up plans to turn it into an industrial site. Tendring bosses have called for more advice on whether the land should be included.

Tendring Council’s cabinet discussed a review of the whole planning history of the land and its potential for development at their meeting on Wednesday.

But they called for more information as they worried its inclusion could end up with the Local Plan being thrown out when it goes before a Government inspector next year.
