Flood alert for north Essex

A FLOOD alert has been issued for the River Colne today.

Discussions were taking place whether to close the barrier at Wivenhoe for high tide at midday.

The alert runs from Clacton to St Peter's Flats including the River Colne and Blackwater Estuary.
