Tiptree: U's boss Cowling submits homes plans
5:06pm Monday 10th December 2012 in News By Andrea Collitt
A FOOTBALL club boss has submitted plans for 103 homes in a village.
The application by Colchester United’s chairman Robbie Cowling has been described as part of a “Masterplan for Tiptree”.
It includes a mixture of two to five-bedroom homes and parking, a 6,000 square metre village green with play area and pond, and 16 allotments.
Cash for the sale of homes would help fund development of the nearby new training ground at Florence Park and support its on going upkeep.
See Tuesday's Gazette for the full story.

The rest of grange road going towards Braxted is horrendous which I am sure most of the players that use it would agree with when their mercs bottom out.
Are the people who live in these houses going to have to walk IN Grange Road to get to the local school as there are no footpaths and cross on a blind bend.
I suppose people will be "baffled" when someone is seriously injured or worse on this road.
Whilst I do not blame Robbie Cowling for taking the opportunity, the whole Florence Park and proposed housing plans have been a complete farce.

Why do Gazette stories usually start with such pleonastic sentences?
Everyone knows it is about Cowling and Tiptree, so why waste words on such pointless attempts to whip up interest in stories which each of us is probably interested in anyway?
