STALLS lined Colchester town centre today as a Christmas market came to town.
Traders selling everything from sausages and cheese to jewellery and books pitched their wares to festive shoppers in the High Street, which was closed to traffic.
Visitors also had their chance to be lucky for a year by catching a cake thrown by mayor Christopher Arnold off the balcony of the Town Hall.
- Many of the stalls will feature at the old bus station in Queen Street when it is temporarily transformed into a Christmas fair from Tuesday until Sunday December 23.
