CROOKS stole an antique brooch during a break-in in Braiswick, Colchester.
Several items of jewellery were taken after the burglars forced open a window at the home between 1pm and 3.30pm on Tuesday December 4.
The distinctive brooch was made up of two lions' claws connected together with silver, and the ends of both claws were also tipped in silver. Essex Police have issued a sketch of the item in the hope a member of the public will recognise it.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Steven King at Colchester CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
