VOLUNTEERS are being urged to use the power of conversation to help isolated people recover from a stroke.
Anglian Community Enterprise is setting up a Conversation Partner scheme which will see volunteers have regular and meaningful conversations with stroke victims.
Recovering victims often struggle to find the right words, have slurred speech or difficulties with understanding, reading and writing.
The project, with the Stroke Association and Tendring Specialist Stroke Services, is asking for volunteers to offer one hour a week for three months.
Volunteers will get two days training and will have their travel costs reimbursed.
