Pedestrian killed in Dovercourt crash

A PEDESTRIAN has been killed after a road crash in Dovercourt.
A 28-year-old local man was hit by a black Renault Clio near The Royal pub in Main Road, Dovercourt at 9.30pm on Saturday December 1.
Paramedics took the man to Colchester General Hospital but sadly died a short time after arrival.
The two male occupants of the car were uninjured.
The cars’ driver, a 22-year-old man from Hornchurch was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has been released on police bail until Tuesday, February 5 2013.
A section of Main Road, Dovercourt, was closed for five hours while forensic collision investigators try to establish what happened.
