In today's Gazette: Jogger Stuart Forsyth was left fighting for his life after metal fell off the back of a lorry and smashed into a traffic light which fell on him.
Lorry driver Adrian Scott-Broome, 51, of Woodbridge, Suffolk, denied a charge of dangerous driving at Chelmsford Crown Court. The case continues.
* A super slimmer lost more than seven stones and dropped from a size 24 to a size 12 in a year.
Haley Coote, who plans to marry boyfriend Rob Hogger in 2014, has now been nominated for Slimming World's national Miss Slinky competition.
* A woman has admitted killing a man in a crash.
Rebecca Price, 29, of Wilson Marriage Road, Colchester, admitted causing the death of Charles Punter by careless driving after an accident in Kelvedon Road, Tiptree. She will be sentenced next month.
* The Gazette's Lives Not Knives campaign took a major step forward after Clacton MP Douglas Carswell led a debate in Parliament.
Mr Carswell said police should use stop and search powers and take stronger action against knife crime.
