Thieves strike while couple on holiday

THIEVES stole thousands of pounds worth of goods while homeowners were on holiday.

The burglary took place in the Longridge area, in Colchester, between October 19 and October 23.

The burglars broke into the house by smashing the back patio window, leaving muddy footprints, and stole jewellery, a games console and other electrical equipment as well as some cash.

Police are appealing for information on the burglary or from anyone who has been offered a large amount of jewellery or electronic goods.

Once again, the police appeal for help long after the stolen goods will have been sold on several times over. Why does it take them so long to put out such appeals?
