CRICKETERS can rack up the runs after a Tendring village won £5,000 to install a pitch.
Alresford Parish Council has won the grant from Essex County Council’s Big Society Fund after its bid was backed by the area’s judging panel.
The parish council will now use the cash to build an artificial pitch on the Ford Lane playing field, after Tendring Council gave planning permission in September for the work to go ahead.
