REPAIR work is causing delays on one of Colchester’s busiest roundabouts.

The roundabout leading to Maldon Road, Southway and Balkerne Hill has been reduced to one lane.

Engineers had to dig four metres to reach the burst water main and are in the process of repairing the roundabout.

The restrictions could be in place until Thursday.

John Clare, Anglian Water spokesman, said: “We would also like to apologise for the disruption to motorists, both from the burst on Friday night and the continuing work to reinstate the roundabout.

“We will lift the lane closure as soon as we are able.”
