In today's Gazette: A burst pipe sent water gushing along roads, flooding a Colchester roundabout and seeping into homes.

Residents had to bail out their cellars and stack sandbags against their doors in a bid to try to stop the water getting into their homes. 

* A woman was robbed in an alley by two teenagers. The 23-year-old was pushed to the ground and had her bag snatched near Highwoods Square, Colchester.

* Weekly black bin bag collections in Colchester have been saved for the next five years thanks to a Government grant of more than £2 million.

* Anti-knife campaigners are preparing to go to Parliament.

The group, led by Caroline Shearer, whose son Jay died after being stabbed, said there needs to be more deterents to stop people carrying knives.
