A BURGLAR ran down the street carrying a stolen cartoon statue after smashing into a jewellers.
Dressed in a red boiler suit, the crook stole a three foot pink Betty Boop statue from Rowles of Dovercourt in High Street on Friday, November 16.
He then ran off towards the Cliff Road area at around 3.30am.
The burglar is described as white, is in his late teens and was wearing a black hoodie under an all-in-one red boiler suit.
Investigating officer, Pc Keith Hewitt, said: "The burglary itself was unique, the escape was quite distinctive and the item stolen was very out of the ordinary. All three aspects should attract witnesses to our investigation and we would urge them to contact us so that we can arrest this burglar as soon as possible.”
