A BURST main left islanders without water.
Anglian Water has reported the burst main on the Strood, causing some residents to have no water or low pressure this afternoon.
Engineers reported the problem fixed by 3.45pm today.
- If you are still experiencing no water or low water pressure, please call 0800 145145 to speak to an Anglian Water advisor.

It appears from the article that far from there being a water shortage (bring on the ration books!), the water was cut off temporarily.

My postman was very late today, shall we have a headline that the postmen have disappeared and all the mail is missing?

It's raining here. Maybe the banners should read "whole are plagued by damp problems".

Because I was waiting for the postman, and also because it was very wet outside, I didn't get my grocery shopping. Oh dear, "elderly person cut off from all food supplies!"
