Work to start on A120

WORK will start on Monday night to improve the A120.

Speed limit signs are being installed overnight between Braintree and Marks Tey for the rest of this week and road surfacing work will also be completed.

A full road closure will be in force between Marks Tey and Braintree on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to carry out the work between 8pm and 6am.

A new 50mph speed limit will be enforced on the Coggeshall bypass from Saturday.

The Highways Agency has appealed to drivers to plan their journeys before they set out.

In roadworks you'll be lucky to reach 50 at any point mate

What is the point in complaining???? They are doing the work at night when there is less traffic, it is a temporary thing lasting less than a week, and the road will be repaired at the end of it!

Ever since I could read maps I've always laughed at the loopy line going round Coggeshall - like someone was drawing a straight line and their finger got in the way. Bypasses were a 20th century solution to a 20th century problem and are likely to get ever slower in the 21st.
