12:53pm Monday 12th November 2012 in News By James Dwan
DETECTIVES are appealing for residents to be on their guard following two burglaries in Clacton.
More than £3,000 of electrical items, cash and jewellery were taken after raiders targeted a home in Holland Park.
A burglar smashed his way through a locked window of a home before taking the items, which included a television, laptop computers.
The incident happened overnight on Sunday.
A PlayStation 3 and an Xbox computer games console were stolen during a raid on another home in Boxted Avenue.
The thieves forced their way through the front door of the home overnight on Saturday.
Det Con Hannah Richardson, from Colchester Police Station’s target offender team, warned residents to keep an eye out for their neighbours.
She said: "Any burglary leaves the homeowner feeling unsettled and upset that someone has been through their home and possessions.
“Any suspicious activity spotted by a neighbour or passerby should be reported immediately to police."
Anyone with any information about the burglaries is asked to call Det Con Richardson on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
