PARLIAMENTARIANS gave a standing ovation when the Colchester Military Wives Choir performed at the House of Commons.
The 30-strong choir also gave an impromptu rendition of You Raise Me Up in the historic setting of Westminster Hall.
The choir was formed only in July and is made up of women associated to servicemen.
The performance, which had been organised by Colchester MP Sir Bob Russell, was held in the atrium of Portcullis House.
