A FAMILY car was torched in an arson attack in Colchester.

Firefighters were called to Baronswood Way, on Colchester's Army estate, just after 8.30pm last night with police arriving soon after.

Detectives believe the fire was started deliberately.

Anyone with information call Colchester police on 101.

A terrible disaster in a 'new estate'. Just shows the type of mentality of some individuals in the area. It is a tragic shame and mirrors our broken society. Fortunately, for once, the bad press is not revolving around Greenstead. It is an inexcusable criminal act and potentially life-threatening. Thank God no one was injured!

Hardly surprising this has happened. That estate is full of benefit spongers and lay abouts, only a matter of time before it happens on a daily basis.
